TOWN AND COUNTRY
I live and work in a small rural village in South Lincolnshire, a short distance from the picturesque Georgian market town of Stamford. My garden studio looks out across farmland and woodland. We are blessed to be surrounded by uninterrupted views of countryside and mature trees, providing me with the perfect place to paint.
Whilst enjoying the peaceful rural setting to live and work, I love the excitement of visiting busy and bustling towns and cities. Living in easy reach of Nottingham and Cambridge and with quick train links to London, I make regular visits to galleries and museums for inspiration but also to collect important reference material through photographs and sketchbooks which inform my urban themed artworks.
The work displayed on the web-site reflects the two very different sources of inspiration. I have shown a cross section of archived paintings to give you a flavour of my styles and approaches to my animal, human, rural and urban studies.
